April 23 - 29, 2017

 

Calls for services this week: 621 Arrest made: 49

 

District One- (Blackwater):

Burglary – Officer responded to a facility in reference to theft of items. Upon inspection it was reported that approximately 200 feet in copper wire was taken, a condenser to a meat fridge and an air conditioning unit was stripped. The facility was locked with a fence surrounding it, though a piece of the barbed wire fence had been cut out.

Status: Under Investigation

 

Theft – The victim reported that his brother took yard work tools from his residence without permission. When confronted about the items the suspect said he was taking them as he loaded the items and drove away from the residence. The suspect was gone prior to officer arrival.

Status: Under Investigation

 

District Two (Sacaton Flats)

 

Theft – A 12 foot extension ladder was reported missing from the victim’s yard. The victim stated he had been a victim of criminal damage in the recent past due to ongoing trespassing and requested a report be taken in reference to his ladder being taken.

Status: Under Investigation

 

District Three (Sacaton)

 

Shoplifting – A female suspect and two juvenile male suspects were observed taking seven bags of candy and putting them in the female’s purse. After walking around store the suspects left the point of sale without paying. The suspects were observed getting on the transit bus and leaving the area.

Status: Under Investigation

 

Shoplifting – The reporting party stated that a male suspect was observed taking candy and placing them in his pockets before walking out of the store. The employees stated that he is a “regular” but did not know his name.

Status: Under Investigation

 

District Four (Stotonic Area):

 

Aggravated Assault – Officers responded to a residence reference o an assault. Upon investigation it was determined the victim was dropped off at the location by a family member and the assault had occurred elsewhere. Due to the victim’s injuries, they were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Status: Under Investigation

 

District Four – (Lone Butte Area):

 

Shoplifting – A male suspect was observed on surveillance stealing three cartons of cigarettes while at a Community gas station. The male suspect has been at the store before and previously stole items from the Center. The suspect was observed in a SUV style vehicle leaving the premises.

Status: Under Investigation

 

Shoplifting – A female subject was observed taking two pairs of sunglasses from the sunglasses rack, going to the cooler and grabbing a 20 oz soda and conceals them in her bag. She then exited the store, walking past the last point of sale, without paying for the merchandise. The female was observed getting into a black truck and driving off

Status: Under Investigation

 

Shoplifting – A Hispanic male walked into the Coach Store at Phoenix Premium Outlet and picked out a white Coach wallet. He then walked behind a counter and placed the wallet into a guess bag and quickly exited the store. The store was unable to determine which direction the suspect left in.

Status: Under Investigation

 

Theft – The reporting party stated a male suspect walked into the Coach Store at Phoenix Premium Outlet and began to walk around the store. The suspect was observed to be crouching behind the counter at times and believes he may have been taking of the security tags off of the items. The male was then observed walking towards the exit with six purses in his possession. Once he went out the doors he left in an unknown direction.

Status: Under Investigation

 

District Five- (Casa Blanca):

 

Aggravated Assault – Officers responded to a call in reference to a shooting victim. Investigation revealed the suspect had stabbed an individual during the course of an altercation. The individual, who had been just stabbed, utilized a handgun to shoot the person who had just stabbed them. Both individuals were transported to an area hospital for further medical treatment.

Status: Under Investigation

 

District Six – (Komatke):

 

Aggravated Assault – The victim and reporting party stated that the suspect arrived home and began to argue. As the argument progressed the suspect grabbed a knife and struck the victim three to five times with the handle of the knife causing injuries. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into DRS.

Status: Suspect was arrested

 

Auto Theft – Officers responded to Vee Quiva Casino where the victim stated that while playing slots at the casino her silver Mazda was taken. The victim did not realize her vehicle was taken until she attempted to leave the casino and could not locate the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into the database as stolen.

Status: Under Investigation

 

Auto Theft – The victim stated the suspect took her vehicle without permission and requested her vehicle be reported as stolen. Investigation revealed that the suspect drove the victim that night as a designated driver. The victim agreed to spend the night at the victim’s residence and the keys were placed on the counter. Upon returning to the living room area, it was discovered the suspect was gone with the keys and the car.

Status: Under Investigation

 

Theft – the reporting party stated her campaign sign was missing from the area which she had posted it. She stated that even the rebar that was used to secure the sign was taken.

Status: Under Investigation

 

District Seven – (Maricopa):

No incidents regarding part 1 crime

 

Incident Log April 30 – May 6, 2017

Gila River Police officers responded to 651 calls for service and made 56 arrests.

 

District One:

No incidents regarding Part 1 crime.

 

District Two:

No incidents regarding Part 1 crime.

 

District Three:

 

Aggravated Assault – Officers responded to a physical domestic dispute in which the suspect strangled the victim. The victim refused medical attention. The suspect was arrested and booked into DRS.  

Status: Suspect was arrested.

 

Arson – A suspect set fire to a trash can in front of a residence. No other property was damaged.

Status: Under investigation.

 

Shoplifting – Suspects entered the Sacaton Supermart, picked up several items and then proceeded to leave the store without paying for the merchandise.

Status: Under investigation.

 

Theft - A victim reported money stolen from her purse by a relative while inside of her residence. The suspect was not seen taking the money by the victim and left prior to police arrival.

Status: Under investigation.

 

District Four (Stotonic Area):

No incidents regarding Part 1 crime.

 

(Lone Butte / WHP Area)

 

Shoplifting – A suspect entered the Tommy Hilfiger store, removed a package of men’s underwear and concealed them in a bag. The suspect was detained and the merchandise returned.

Status:Suspect was issued a criminal citation.

 

Theft – A suspect stole a cell phone from a patron while at Wild Horse Pass Casino. The victim was able to plot his phone using a phone finding application. The phone was located and returned.

Status: Suspect was arrested.

 

Theft – A suspect entered a vehicle belonging to the victim and stole a backpack containing personal items of value. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of the Wild Horse Pass Casino.

Status: Under investigation.

 

District Five:

 

Auto Theft – A suspect stole a vehicle from in front of a residence. The victim’s vehicle was later located on the community abandoned and partially striped and damaged.

Status: Under investigation.

 

District Six:

 

Arson – A suspect set fire to a pile of dead vegetation and left the area. Gila River Fire arrived and put out the flames.

Status: Under investigation.

 

Theft – A suspect took the victim’s wallet while at the Vee Quiva Casino. The suspect has been identified and follow up being conducted.

Status: Charges have been forwarded.

 

District Seven:

 

Theft – A suspect, while an invited guest, took the victim’s wallet after he had gone to bed.

Status: Under investigation.
