AmeriCorps Program

Greetings from your Gila River AmeriCorps! This year we have a new service site location at the Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital. Three of our AmeriCorps members are placed in a new office near the temporary entrance.

Just to get to know your AmeriCorps Members a little better: Wesley Rhodes is a proud Marine Veteran from District 4. He has been a member of the AmeriCorps program since it began in 2014.

Stanson Holmes is also a proud Marine Corps Veteran from District 4 who is just beginning with the AmeriCorps program. Finally, Kenneth Madrid is an Army Veteran with nearly a decade of experience as a Service Officer with the American Legion in Casa Grande.

We will be stationed in the hospital to provide assistance with locating resources, obtaining DD214’s, headstones, and answering questions about becoming service connected with the VA regional and medical centers.

We also have a service office there that can answer your questions about benefits and assist you in getting the paperwork done.

The office is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Service Officer Hours are from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. We look forward to seeing you!
