The AZ Facts of Life is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 based Phoenix, Ariz. Their goal is to provide developmental opportunities to youth that will contribute to their success as adults. They began working with the Gila River Indian Community by providing youth development classes through Vechij Himdag Mashchamakud Alternative School in Sacaton in 2012.

They initially started offering classes for the youth on leadership, performing arts, prevention, and parenting.

The programs were designed to help keep the youth busy and find their “niche” in life. Since then, they have moved to providing more “life skills” types of workshops and GED preparation classes to Skyline and the district centers. They meet at least once a month but also hold other activities including full weekend workshops and college tours throughout the country to expose the youth to different cultures and communities.

Yolanda Robinson, Founder and Executive Director of AZ Facts of Life, has expressed her gratitude for working with the Gila River Indian Community by, not only providing these opportunities to the youth but to community members as well. The program has had a high success rate with GED prep. These workshops help Community members achieve their personal and academic goals.

AZ Facts of Life will continue to offer their services throughout the districts, tentative dates:
