November 11 - 18

Gila River Police officers responded to 654 calls for service and made 34 arrests.

 

District One- (Blackwater)

Aggravated Assault – The suspect and victim were involved in a physical altercation when the suspect struck the victim with a wooden stick causing injury. A third party notified law enforcement and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Gila River Emergency Medical Services responded but the victim refused medical attention. The suspect fled prior to police arrival and was not located. Status: Charges forwarded to the office of the Prosecutor.

 

Aggravated Assault – The suspect and victim were involved in a physical altercation when the altercation escalated and the suspect and victim stabbed one another. Law enforcement was notified and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Gila River Emergency Medical Services responded and transported both subjects to a local trauma hospital for treatment of their severe injuries.Status: Charges have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office. 

 

 

District Two – (Sacaton Flats)

Aggravated Assault – The suspect and victim were involved in a verbal altercation when the altercation escalated and the suspect stabbed the victim with a screwdriver. Law enforcement was notified and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. The suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival. Gila River Emergency Medical Services responded and provided medical treatment to the victim’s injury. The victim was not transported to a hospital.

Status: Charges have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office.

 

 

District Three- (Sacaton)

Aggravated Assault – The suspect shot the victim with a BB gun from several feet away striking him in the abdomen. Law enforcement was notified and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Gila River Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to a local trauma hospital for further medical treatment. Status: Charges have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office.

 

Burglary - Suspect(s) entered the victim’s residence by by-passing the locking mechanism on the sliding glass door and removing his wallet and cash. Law enforcement was notified and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Status: Under investigation.

 

Burglary - Suspect(s) forced entry into the victim’s residence while she was not home. The victim returned home and realized items were missing from the residence during the time she was gone. Law enforcement was notified and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Contact was made with nearby neighbors, who stated they had not seen anyone or anything during the time of the incident. Status: Under investigation.

Lone Butte Area

Theft - Suspect(s) stole a Honda 2000I red and black generator from the victim’s vehicle while parked at the Wild Horse Pass Casino. Casino security notified law enforcement and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. 

Status: Under investigation.

 

Shoplifting – The suspect was caught shoplifting from the Love’s Truck Stop. Employees notified law enforcement and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. The suspect admitted to having stolen multiple items from the business in previous incidents. Status: Suspect was arrested.

 

Theft – The suspect was observed on video surveillance retrieving the victim’s wallet from a slot machine while inside the Wild Horse Pass Casino. Casino Security notified law enforcement and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident.

Status: Charges have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office.

 

 

District Five – (Casa Blanca)

Aggravated Assault – The suspect used a rock to strike the victim, his brother, during a fight while outside of their residence. Law enforcement was notified and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused any medical treatment. Status: Charges have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office.

 

 

District Six – (Komatke)

Robbery – The suspect used a firearm to assault the victims, his mother and brother. Law enforcement was notified and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. The suspect fled from law enforcement, was located and subsequently arrested. No injuries were reported. Status: Suspect was arrested.

 

Burglary - Suspect(s) forced entry into the victim’s residence and laundry room. Several items were taken and noted missing when the victim returned home. Law enforcement was notified and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Status: Under investigation.

 

Shoplifting – The juvenile suspect entered the gas station, concealed merchandise and then fled the store without paying for the item. Employees notified law enforcement and Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Status: Under investigation.

 

Auto Theft - Suspect(s) stole the victim’s 2014 Chevy Impala from a residence in District 6. When the victim realized his vehicle was missing he notified law enforcement. Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Status: The victim’s vehicle was recovered.

 

 

District Seven – (Maricopa)

Auto Theft - Suspect(s) committed theft of a motor vehicle against the victim. The suspect(s) unlawfully drove her white Ford F-150 off her property without her permission. When the victim realized her vehicle was missing she notified law enforcement. Gila River police officers responded to investigate the incident. Status: The vehicle was located and recovered by Phoenix Police

District Three- (Sacaton)

BURGLARY – 191221-06506 Officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to a burglary. Contact was made with the victim/reporting party; it was reported that the unknown suspect(s) attempted to take a television from the residence but left due to the victim returning to the home. A cell phone was taken from the residence belonging to the victim; attempts were made to locate the cell phone but were unsuccessful. Photos were taken of the television and damages sustained as the suspect(s) attempted to take but were not able to carry outside the home. Charges are pending further information regarding the suspects. Status:  Open Investigation

 

 

District Four-

Stotonic Area –

THEFT – 191219-06462 Officers were dispatched to a residence in reference to a theft. The victims stated an unidentified person took their spare house key and stole a black Samsung cell phone and a filing cabinet drawer that contained an envelope with cash in it had scratches on it similar to be being pried open. There were no suspects identified at the time of the investigation. Status: Closed Pending Suspect Identification

 

Lone Butte Area

BURGLARY – 191220-06483 Officers were dispatched to the area in reference to two vehicles that were broken into. Contact was made with the victim, who was reporting that a purse containing a Rugar 9 mm handgun was taken from their vehicle. The victim advised a co-worker’s vehicle was also damaged and sustained three cracked windows. Video surveillance was reviewed in attempts to identify the suspect; latent prints were attempted to be pulled yielding in negative results. There is no investigative lead in identifying the suspect; the weapon was entered into NCIC as stolen. Status:  Open Investigation

 

THEFT (SHOPLIFTING) – 191219-06471 Officers were dispatched to the Michael Kors Store at the Phoenix Premium Outlet Mall in reference to a shoplifting. Contact was made with the reporting party; two males took three handbags and ran out of the store past the point of sales. Video surveillance was reviewed to assist in identifying the suspects; at this time there is no suspect information.

THEFT– 191215-06386 Officers were dispatched to the Lone Butte Casino in reference to theft of a wallet. Investigation revealed the victim was playing the slot machine when getting up to move to another machine, the wallet was dropped on the floor. The suspect gets up from their machine to walk away when stepping on the wallet and picking it up. The suspect sits for a while then proceeds to walk out of the casino leaving in a SUV in an unknown direction. The suspect was able to be identified by their player’s club card and charges will be forwarded to prosecutor’s office for review. Status: Charges Forwarded

 

THEFT – 191217-06422 ~CAD~ Officers were dispatched to Love’s Travel Center in reference to a missing phone from Wild Horse Pass Casino. The updated tracker was showing near Sundust Rd; location provided was showing in a middle of a field. The cell phone was not located. Status: 

 

 

District Five- (Casa Blanca)

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – 191217-06423 Officers were dispatched to the area in reference to shots fired at a residence. The victim stated his vehicle was possibly hit but no one sustained injuries. The victim stated they woke up to gunfire outside the residence and were able to give officers a description of the vehicle passing by the residence at a high rate of speed. Casings were located in the front area of the victim’s property; the victim denied having any enemies or issues that would cause someone to shoot at the residence. The vehicle was not located and still remains outstanding. Photos were taken and later impounded into evidence. Status: Closed pending further suspect identification

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – 191216-06413 Officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to an aggravated assault. The reporting party stated the suspect had stabbed the victim in the neck during a dispute. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and the victim’s daughter was also injured when the suspect began to assault the daughter while calling the police. Both victims wished to press charges and were photographed along with the knife the suspect was found in possession of once officers located the suspect. The suspect resisted arrest and did not comply with officer’s commands and refused to cooperate during the investigative portion of the incident. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into DRS. Status:  Suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

 

THEFT – 191219-06463 Officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to theft of a cell phone. Investigation revealed the victim allowed the suspect to use the phone but gave limitation on the time usage. The suspect returned the phone to the victim and was placed on a stand in the living room. The suspect became irate with the victim and grabbed the phone before running out the door. The victim chased the suspect but was not able to retrieve the cell phone. The suspect was not located and a follow up will be conducted to interview the to retrieve a statement. Status: Open Investigation

 

 

District Six – (Komatke)

THEFT – 191220-06480 Officers were dispatched to the area in reference to a theft. The victim reported unknown suspect(s) had broken into the vehicle sometime during the night. The vehicle was parked in the carport with the hood, driver’s door and trunk open. No damages were observed by the victim; only item taken was the battery from the engine bay. There are no suspects identified at this time.Status: Closed pending suspect identification
