CHANDLER, Ariz. - Skyline Education proudly celebrated the groundbreaking of a major expansion project at its Skyline Gila River Campus on October 12, 2026. The project marks a significant investment in educational opportunities for students and families by adding a dedicated high school facility designed to support academic achievement, career readiness, and student engagement.
As a school serving the Gila River Community, Skyline Education recognizes the importance of providing educational opportunities that reflect and support the rich culture, traditions, and aspirations of Native American students. This expansion represents an investment in the future of the community by creating additional pathways to academic excellence, college enrollment, and workforce development.
The new high school building will include state-of-the-art learning spaces, featuring a STEM laboratory, art studio, student garden, and additional athletic fields. These enhancements are designed to provide students with hands-on learning experiences and expanded opportunities in academics, athletics, and the arts.
“This expansion reflects our commitment to growing opportunities for students and ensuring they have access to innovative educational programs and high-quality facilities,” said Swen Anderson, President, Skyline Education. “We are excited to continue serving families in the community and preparing students for success in college, careers, and life.”
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together community leaders, partners, educators, students, and families to celebrate this important milestone. Representative Teresa Martinez of Legislative District 16, Councilman O.D. Harris of the City of Chandler, Councilman Duane Jackson of Gila River Indian Community and Amanda Pietre of Arizona Charter School Association joined Skyline Education in recognizing the impact this project will have on future generations of students.
