Gila River Indian Community employees were recognized for their years of service at a special lunch reception held to honor their commitment to serving the Community.

There was cheer and stories shared among the individuals, who came together at Fleming’s Steak House and Wine Bar for the GRIC Human Resources “Years of Service Awards” on Sept. 26.

GRIC employees who attended the event were treated to a steak and chicken lunch and a variety of entertainment provided by Human Resources Employee Assistance/Training Specialist, Richard Weschrob and Training Specialist Phillip Morris and Employee Development Manager Marsha Chischilly.

The entertainment consisted of music trivia from the 80s, 90s, 00s, as well as a dance number by a group of sparkling clad ladies, who performed a round of hit songs by Tina Turner. Although there were no spirits being served during this occasion, the spirits of the individuals were high for some that have put in over 20 years of service to the Community.

HR Employee Development Manager Marsha Chischilly, said the employees were all deserving of recognition for what they brought to the Community.

Lt. Gov. Robert Stone provided the welcoming address to the employees and said he and Gov. Stephen Roe Lewis are honored to recognize the employees for their hard work.

GRIC has a large workforce said Stone, which requires teamwork and communication to provide an environment that reinforces the values of the Community, which means looking after each other and making sure employees are well taken care of.

“Congratulations to each and every one of you. Some of you are retiring, thank you for your service to our Community,” said, Stone, “It’s an investment of your time and your family to commit yourself to your job and what you have been able to do all these years.”

In closing, Stone said, “It’s tireless work that you do and now that we are here together it is important to recognize you in a way that reflects your service, we are a community and that includes you all.”
