FlightSafety Breaks Ground on Mesa Learning Center

MESA, Ariz. — A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new FlightSafety International learning center in Mesa was held on Oct. 21 near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Gila River Indian Community Lt. Gov. Regina Antone was among the elected officials in attendance.

 

FlightSafety International, a global leader in aviation training, supplies of flight simulators, visual systems and displays to educational, commercial, government, and military organizations. The company elevates safety standards across the aviation industry through rigorous training for pilots, technicians, and other professionals from 167 countries and territories, with one existing  in Tucson.

 

“It is a great pleasure on behalf of the board to welcome FlightSafety International to our Mesa Gateway family,” said Lt. Gov. Regina Antone, who also serves as chair of the board of directors for the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority. She anticipates that the Gila River Indian Community will benefit from the new facility's proximity, as it is anticipated to generate substantial economic impact for the region and create about 100 jobs, with potential for expansion. The new 100,000-square-foot learning center will meet rising demand for high-quality aviation training and reflect FlightSafety’s continued commitment to advancing aviation safety and preparedness. It will feature full-flight simulators and advanced training devices for pilots, maintenance technicians and cabin crew. The center is expected to open in 2028.
