If you’re a job seeker or an employer, the Rawhide 4th Annual Job Fair organized by Gila River Development is the place to be.

Gila River Indian Community departments, programs, entities, and other local employers will convene on Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Rawhide Western Town Steakhouse to recruit candidates for positions within their organizations. Registration is free.

Gila River Development will also be hiring for positions across its entities, including Rawhide, Firebird Motorsports Park, Sacaton Market and Gila River Gas & Goods, among others.

The purpose of the job fair is to connect Community members with employment opportunities and strengthen relationships among employers in and around the Gila River Indian Community.

“Our team looks forward to this event every year, it’s a great event for both employers and job seekers and I love seeing all our GRIC entities and friends out providing opportunities for those who need them,” said Leslie Bazaes, Human Resources Director for Gila River Development.

This year’s job fair builds on the success of previous events and will feature raffles, freebies, and a welcoming atmosphere for networking and exploring career opportunities throughout GRIC.

Approximately 230 job seekers attended last year along with 25 companies on hand.

“We’re excited to connect talented job seekers with opportunities throughout GRIC, and we look forward to seeing more Community members take advantage of the rewarding careers available with our organizations and other local employers,” said Duncan Wiston, General Manager of Gila River Development.

If you’re planning to attend the job fair, be prepared for on-site interviews and pre-employment screenings as part of the hiring process. Gila River Development is working to make hiring as quick and convenient as possible for Community members seeking employment.

If you plan to attend the job fair, here are a few ways to prepare and make a strong impression with employers:

Research – Learn about GRIC departments, programs, and employers ahead of time so you can ask thoughtful questions during interviews.

Elevator Pitch – Prepare a brief 30-second introduction that highlights your experience, skills, and career interests.

Bring Copies – Bring multiple copies of your resume, portfolio (if applicable), and any other information employers may need during the hiring process.
