MOLLY OF DENALI Comes to Life at Heard Museum

The Heard Museum’s latest cultural experience gives families the opportunity to step inside the world of MOLLY OF DENALI, the popular series based in the fictional Alaskan village of Qyah. The exhibit is like stepping into an episode—full of curiosity, community and the everyday adventures that shape Molly Mabray’s life.

It is rooted in Alaska Native values, traditions and language, and allows visitors to see Alaska through Molly’s eyes, with wonder, humor and great respect for the land. Guests can step into a replica bush plane and imagine flying over snowy mountains, jump on a snow machine or shuffle through a snow maze in snowshoes. Each of the activities has a playful feel to it and yet subtly teaches how people in rural Alaska get around in their world.

The Trading Post and Tribal Hall are the heart of the exhibit, recreating scenes from the show that will be familiar to fans. Families can pitch a tent, try their hand at ice fishing, marvel at shimmering replica ice sculptures, or learn the care of sled dogs—echoing the everyday rhythms of Molly’s community.

This is more than an exhibit, it is a celebration of culture, of storytelling and of connection. Visitors enter Molly's world to see up close what life is like as an Alaska Native and the values that guide it: curiosity, respect and the joy of exploring the outdoors.
