About GRIN

The Gila River Indian News is funded by the Gila River Indian Community tribal government. It consists of a Managing Editor, three Community Newspersons and support staff. The GRIN also participates in internship programs sponsored by the GRIC Employment & Training Department.

The GRIN was originally published in January of 1998. Throughout its history, the paper has grown and changed in concept and design. The Gila River Indian Community and its members have come to rely heavily on the Gila River Indian News as the main source of communication for tribal government news, feature articles, community profiles, announcements and advertising for a variety of community services.

The GRIN is published twice monthly on the first and third Fridays, with a circulation of 6,800. The primary circulation is within the Community and in mail-outs to tribal members residing throughout the State of Arizona and the United States. It is our goal to enhance the publication of the GRIN to an increased level of quality and professionalism, providing Community members with useful, informative and reliable information in a timely manner.
